Show Me The Love

I never thought joining a car enthusiast website for the Ford Taurus SHO would influence my life as much as it did back in January of 2005. Here I sit, four-and-a-half years later – married to a man I met through that very same online forum.

My husband, Adam, and I are a very enthusiastic couple when it comes to the Taurus SHO. If it wasn’t for this common interest, I wouldn’t have met my new husband as soon as I did and we probably wouldn’t have as many SHOs either. Between the two of us, you will find 6 SHOs and 1 Taurus in our driveway. We’re a Ford family and our life together has only just begun.

Adam and I participate in open track events at local road courses. It’s a great way to meet new people, while also enjoying the cars we have put all the time and effort into. It may not be the typical “husband and wife” thing to do, but it suits us just fine.

As for how we met, Adam was already a member and I joined towards the end of 2004. At the beginning of 2005, we met for coffee at a local Barnes & Noble after talking a bit online. During that conversation that night, we found out that our father’s worked for the same company at the time – it was a sign at that point, well at least I took it as a sign.

In July of 2005, we went to our first SHO convention and that’s when I met a new family of enthusiasts that share the same passions that we do and are always there if a fellow member needs help before they even ask (i.e. raising money for a sick child, emergency repairs to a car, a random part, stranded car, etc.).

In January of 2008, Adam asked me to marry me and I said yes!

In February of 2009, Ford officially unveiled the new 2010 SHO at the Chicago Auto Show. Adam and I were lucky enough to be a part of the experience, while also celebrating our 4 year anniversary on that same day. I took this as another sign that the SHO really has made an impact in our lives.

Adam and I were married on September 19th and were fortunate enough to have a 2010 SHO at our wedding that was provided by a local dealer for pictures. We took pictures with all 4 generations of the SHO and it was also our first chance to drive the new car. I owe a lot to the SHO and will always have a few in the garage for this very reason.
