Grandpa Brown’s ‘67 Ford
By
Brent B.

My grandfather, Doug Brown, is the proud owner of a 1967 Ford truck. He has used it for the past 42+ years in Twin Falls, Idaho as a delivery truck for the family business, Claude Brown’s Home Furnishings. At 89 years old, my grandfather is still meticulas about his vehicles often washing them by hand a couple times a week. Therefore, the truck is in fantastic condition. However, the most amazing stat is that it has over 920,000 miles on it. The first and original engine lasted for almost 500,000. Since then, he has put 3 used or rebuilt engines in it. One of them lasted only about 20,000 and was a “bum”. Over the Christmas holiday, I asked him if he was ever going to contact Ford and let them know about his amazing truck and he responded “once it hits 1,000,000 miles, I’ll think about it.” Although, he is in great shape for 89 years old, I thought I would try to contact Ford for him.

I have included a picture of the truck taken on Christmas Eve of this year. It is obviously cold, as you can see a lot of frost on the truck. Anyways, it might be a great story for Ford to tell.

Sincerely,

Brent Brown
