I'm about ready to buy my first SUV (only because no one makes station wagons anymore). So:
1) when will the Escape be "renewed" by Ford and
2) will a smaller turbo diesel engine be available in the Escape at that time?
Thank you.

I have a 5.4 triton in my 08 F150 and I'm still learning more about it a year in to owning it. Reliable, efficient yet willing to nail you to the seat when you need it and pull your horse without any strain. My old truck was an 96 150 that had a 5.0 302/manual 5 speed hot rodded out to pull more along with upgrades. I miss that old Ford but I love this new truck, good job Ford! All you need now is a diesel that fits into an F150 (hint, hint) . My original 90 150 lasted 300,000 miles before and idiot tow truck driver trashed the frame but anyway.

Al, I have been asking the same question for 10 years now. You and I can be the first in line when Ford does this.

Am I the only person patiently waiting for Ford to put a diesel in the Expedition.
If the time was ever right it is now. Your market share would skyrocket with this vehicle.

What about all of those hillbillies that buy an F650 just to stomp on the accelerator to get a nice plume of black smoke out of the tailpipe?

Lets face it, Ford is selling diesels that are intentionally noisy, inefficient, and polluting.

I have a 99 7.3 diesel with 345,000 miles. I have stayed away from the 6.0 do to the many problems and the 6.3 do to poor fuel milage. I hope the 6.7 is as good as the 7.3 otherwise I don't know what I am going to get on my next purchase and at this time am holding off getting anything.
