The 2011 Lincoln MKX is brimming with standard and class-exclusive technologies. Standard MyLincoln Touch and remote start lead the list of features or technologies that are new for the 2011 Lincoln MKX, including:
- Adaptive Cruise Control and Collision Warning with Brake Support allows the driver to set the vehicle’s speed and maintain it without using the accelerator pedal, and warns the driver of a potential collision risk. It also helps reduce speed and automatically pre-charges brakes and engages an electronic brake assist system to help drivers stop more quickly when the system detects a collision is imminent.
- Blind Spot Information System (BLIS®) with Cross Traffic Alert is a feature that helps detect vehicles in blind spots during normal driving and traffic approaching from the sides when reversing out of parking spots.
- MyKey™ is designed to allow parents to encourage teenagers to drive safely and more fuel efficiently, and increase safety belt usage. The standard MyKey feature allows owners to designate keys that can limit the vehicle’s top speed and audio volume.
- Easy Fuel™ Capless Fuel-Filler System is a standard Ford-exclusive feature that uses an integrated spring-loaded flapper door to eliminate the need for a fuel tank screw cap.
The 2011 Lincoln MKX has eight class-exclusive features: MyLincoln Touch, Lincoln SYNC, Easy Fuel, SecuriCode™ keyless entry, Blind Spot Mirrors, MyKey, Cross Traffic Alert and AdvanceTrac® with RSC® (Roll Stability Control).

Power for the 2011 Lincoln MKX is supplied by the 3.7-liter Duratec V6, which employs advanced technology and clever control strategies, such as Twin Independent Variable Camshaft Timing (Ti-VCT) to increase horsepower and torque without compromising fuel economy.
Customers of the 2011 Lincoln MKX will enjoy a luxury crossover that has best-in-class power and torque versus all V6 competitors with unsurpassed highway fuel economy of 25 mpg – all on regular fuel. Horsepower has been increased to 305 – a 15-percent increase compared with the outgoing product – while torque is up to 280 lb.-ft., marking a 12-percent improvement.
The 3.7-liter Ti-VCT V6 is mated to a six-speed SelectShift Automatic™ transmission, which gives customers the option of a fun-to-shift manual experience.

This is upsetting to see that the EcoBoost 3.5 wont be in the 2011 Lincoln MKX. It's still a nice CUV, just not first on my list anymore. That would have been a great feature to brag about for marketing.

Put a 2 or 2.5L EcoBoost in it. Why spend the time and money on a normally-aspirated V6 when Ford already has better products in the pipeline? In fact, I would further argue that, if Ford didn't mess with this modest improvement, the EcoBoost lineup would be farther along by now.
Or, make a hybrid version instead of the 3.7L V6. I'm a proud owner of a 2010 Mercury Mariner hybrid. They have plenty of acceleration for the occasional needs of lane merging, etc. The rest of the time, driven with moderation, they have awesome mileage. I'm getting 37mpg on mine so far.

Why are there no Lincoln hybrids? All automakers, and Ford is no exception, like to gouge for hybrids, loading them with features that are not standard, etc. Putting the Lincoln brand on a hybrid is a great excuse to bilk the conscientious consumer.
If Ford would make a hybrid version for each trim level (SE and SEL) - no other differences - more people would be able to afford, and therefore buy, a hybrid. The Union of Concerned Scientists, of which I am a member, published a report that almost half the premium paid for hybrids, regardless of manufacturer, is due to extra features, features that have nothing to do with the hybrid powertrain! Why?!? That is irresponsible.

I noticed the Ford keypad is not like the Lincoln's Mks integrated into the door's pillar.
Ford you should put the keypad in the door pillar for this car also it looks so cool.
It should come standard on all Lincoln vehicles.
It looks great but could have looked better with a new side profile

Secondly, I think Ford needs to consider developing a dedicated platform for Lincoln. The current lineup is built on Ford platforms, and some of these have Mazda roots. Yeah, its really expensive to do this but it would be well worth it to create a platform that allows for the Lincoln brand to be of its own instead of piggybacking off of other platforms.
On the other hand I am pretty impressed with Ford overall. I'd definitely consider a Ford product for my next car or truck. But in my opinion Lincoln is probably the division that needs the most work. Sorry to sound nasty but that's my bottom line opinion.

I was planning on buying a 2011 model until I saw the new design. I have to say that it leaves me "whelmed"...not overwhelmed, not underwhelmed, just "whelmed". What happened? I'm sure all the upgrades to the interior and under the hood are exceptional, but the tail lights on the former model where distinctive, as was the grill...again, what happened? Change just for change's sake is not "improvement", it's just "different"...I thought Ford was on the right track...why not survey your Lincoln vehicle owners?...they're your best focus group for feedback.

The vehicle will be available in dealerships in the summer this year - we cannot be more specific at this stage unfortunately. MKX will have back up sensors as standard but not the front sensors. A back up camera is optional but included in a very popular package.

The only thing that rattles me is not being able to get a backup camera installed, is this going to become available soon? Also front sensors would be nice too!!
As far as the new 2011 MKX...LOVE,LOVE the grill.., no so crazy about the tailights....

Over all though the new interior seating and features like rear view camera, blind spot, remote start and cross traffic alert are exciting. No more getting into a cold car in the winter. The only thing I wish Ford would change is in the back seat. For a car at this level, it is a shame to have the cup holders made out of plastic. When you put a bottle of water or a can of soda in them, they rattle and make constant noise. Maybe if they would have coated the cup holder themselves with a rubber finish it would have taken care of this
