I was a ford mechanic in the late 40s after WWII. I retired from the mechanic work in '52 entered college, became a minister of the Gospel. My hobby was restoring old cars, from Model A to Mustangs. and T-birds. Why not build an inexpensive auto similar to the Model A with a low compression engine that is easy to overhaul or replace, for those who can and do their own car care. This would fill the bill for those who only drive locally, and don't need luxury.
