Can anyone from Ford/Mercury tell me if the cloth seats in the base Mariner hybrid are the same as those in the Escape hybrid? I prefer the subtle styling differences in the Mercury; however, I’m more interested in using recycled materials. If the Mariner’s seats are not recycled materials, then I will buy the Escape instead. Thanks.

We would have bought a hybrid Fusion or Milan if they were assembled in the USA, as they should be. When we found out that Ford assembles them in Mexico, they were off our list immediately. Fortunately, the hybrid Escape is manufactured in the USA (Kansas City, Missouri), and we’re saving to buy one next year.

I have been looking for a new Escape Hybrid since May 2008. None available in stock from Maine to Florida to Michigan. I check wherever I travel.

MY WIFE AND I OWN A 2007 TAURUS AND WE LIKE IT IT GETS OVER 30 MILES A GALLON OF GAS UP TO ABOUT 34 MPG.

I sure hope Ford dosn’t fall asleep at the “PR” table and looses a golden chance to corner the market. I work at a Ford dealer and I have heard and seen next to nothing about the HYBRIDS.

I have been driving a Milan Hybrid for the past two months and love it. I get over 40 mpg in town … often times better than that as I learn how to drive it more efficiently.
